1. What inspired you to start / join your band?
@5h: The reason I started V3h3m3nt and till now, was to do something different with the Metal genre while incorporating different music genres, effects and guitars.
F33: I joined V3h3m3nt because I love playing heavy music that is not limited by genres, and V3h3m3nt plays like that. And the guys in the band allow me to express myself on the drums instead of telling me how to play.
&dy: Ash and I were classmates, and I was a fan of V3 back in school. Their blend of Arabic-style thrash metal was weird yet exciting. And when the bassist left, I applied—and got the gig.
2. Concept of your band / music.
@5h: Let’s call it Xperimetal!
F33: It's anything soup, but the stock is always metal
&dy: Metal meets Punk meets Funk
3. Artists / Bands that influence your / bandmates sound are . . .
@5h: Prince, Meshuggah, Helmet, Godflesh, Alice in Chains, Live
F33: My influences include the late Yazit Ahmad (Search) Lars Ulrich, Tim Alexander (ex-Primus), Mike Bordin (FNM), Dave Lombardo, Charlie Benante and Mike Portnoy
&dy: Sevendust, Tool, Faith No More
4. Talk to us a little bit about your latest or most recommended song / single / album
@5h: HN1G. The longest, slowest and heaviest (in terms of the guitar and tuning used) song V3 ever wrote. A lot of ‘first’ for V3 on this track. And it’s also the most meaningful one we have ever done so far, due to what divides humanity right now.
F33: HN1G, everything &dy said. Also, we did a lot of firsts with this song.
&dy: HN1G, eerie yet soulful. Just the music itself is hypnotic yet romantic.
5. Half a decade down the road, what do you see for yourself / band
@5h: Experimenting more with V3 in terms of music and gears. And since this year is V3 30th anniversary, we hope to make music for another 30 years, Insyallah!
F33: Continue exploring heavy music possibilities with V3h3m3nt, exploring ways to incorporate music and drumming from Asia and Africa into what we play
&dy: Launching physical copies ranging from cassettes/vinyl, celebrating our 33 years together.
