Leading the charge, we have ASSAULT! Formed in 2006, ASSAULT draws influences from At the Gates, Arch Enemy and In Flames to forge their own melodic death metal sound. They will be performing songs from their latest album “In Aevum Et Illustrata” for the very first time! Their set is definitely gonna be an ASSAULT on the senses!

1.What inspired you to start / join your band?

Clarence - The idea of forming a melodic death metal band was sparked by my discovery of the Swedish band In Flames in late 2005. I was instantly captivated by their signature Gothenburg sound, especially the dual melodic guitar harmonies. That moment of discovery inspired me to start my own melodic death metal band in Singapore in mid-2006.

2.Concept of your band / music.

Clarence - Lyrically, ASSAULT draws inspiration from historical events and organizations such as World War II and the Illuminati. Moving forward, we are expanding our concepts to explore themes like conspiracy theories and beyond.

3.Artists / Bands that influence your / bandmates sound are . . .

All members - In Flames, Dark Tranquility, At The Gates, MPE, Amorphis etc 

4.Talk to us a little bit about your latest or most recommended song / single / album

All members - Final Solution,’ from our debut album The Fallen Reich, remains one of the most requested songs at our live shows! We’ll be heading into the studio this December to record our third full-length album, and we can’t wait to share the new single with you soon!

5.Half a decade down the road, what do you see for yourself / band

Clarence - In 2026, we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary as a band. Over the past two decades, we’ve had the opportunity to perform in countries such as Mongolia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. With our upcoming album, we hope to bring our music to new stages across Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India, Nepal, and beyond—and one day, fulfill our dream of performing at the world’s biggest metal festival, Wacken Open Air.
